would agree with others, that is a clasical fronting. also the logbook is still in her name and when a accident happens due to her age the insurance may want to have a look at the log book.
You are better off letting her drive your car when she needs it, as long as you drive it more then her.
Or no joke, if her insurance is tooo high, then why doesnt she just catch taxi's because it may work out cheaper. and you dont have to pay for parking, and fuel.0 -
Not only frowned upon but very much illegal!bouncyd is not being arsey he is simply stating facts. What you are suggesting doing is "fronting" and is frowned upon by insurers. Another point to bear in mind is that the other person will not be earning any NCB of their own. So their insurance is going to remain, as you put it "very very expensive" indefinitely.
OP: there's no cheap (legal) way around it as others have pointed out.
