Hi
I want to have a go at claiming back the PPi on car finance I had in 2005. The finance was set up by Vauxhall/Network Q through Black Horse. I was told by the vauxhall salesman that they always go for the insurance as the credit is then guartanteed!! Not told that it was optional.
I have no papaerwork for the finance but I do have a number that is next to the transaction on my bank statement. I did write to Black horse but they say they can't find any of my information. Should I be writing to Network Q - shoudl I send a SAR?
can any of you experts advise??
Kind regards
Cath

Hi Cath
A SAR is optional, but if you still have the account number, that is a good start, paperwork can follow later of required, but you pursue the ones who set up the account which would be in your case the head office of the dealer.

Thanks Di
I have just called Black Horse and they can't find my records at all in their system but they did say that the data may be held in their archives. The account number I have they say is not one of theirs?
I just want to double check that the PPI was included and all I can remember at the moment is that the car salesman says that they include it to gurantee the finance but don't know that it actually was if you know what I mean??
If i did SAR, do i sent it to Black Horse or Network Q?

Hi Cath
A suggestion, depending on how long the account was taken out, if you paid by direct debit with the same bank now as you did then, the account number should be shown next to the monthly repayments on banking statements.
For instance if you bank online, this should allow I believe for you to go back about 7 maybe 8 years online.;)
You can send the SAR to either, as they both should hold the details, but I normally send to the actual lender where I am aware would hold most of the information, but pursue the other on the reclaim.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thanks Di, will have a go. I did quote the number from my statement to BH but they say it isn't one of theirs? If I send them a SAR with all my info and a cheque for £10 they may suddenly find me...worth a go!
