Yep, i was going to say the same thing Its cornhill mobile phone insurance. I had it too- and cancelled it., the excess on it is about 50.00 - you cna buy phones off ebay for a fiver.

DC. you need to get yourslef comepltely sorted, and give us a run down- CLEAR run down- whos in the house, where ALL income comes from, and where it ALL goes.

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • Hi, sorry if my post in very large print upset you yesterday but it was based on personal very bad experience that made me more than cry. I do not want this to happen to anyone else.I just want you to know that council tax is a crucial one to sort out. If you can go to your ctax office personally, ask for private chat regarding arrears, I said, ' can I speak to someone about my arrears?' and was discretely asked to wait for an advisor who spoke to me in a private room, I explained my situation and said I wanted to make arrangements to pay but could only afford small payments, they suggested the minimum they could accept. Credit cards and loans etc. are not as important as ctax, mortgage and utility bills.

  • If you sell your car it would probably cover the loan,so with the money pay the loan off and buy a cheap car, this will free up more money for repayments and reduce insurance costs.
I am sorry to hear about your mum,but remember we are always here to help if you need us.
Keep at it,but try not to worry, things soon become clearer and you will be able to get on with life.

    Thanks Livinginhope :)

If I sell car, I'd get about £4500 for it..... the loan is for £8000, cos I had to pay finance off other car...

Or could sell car, buy cheaper one,pay insurance outright, and continue payin loan for next 4.5 years..... Don't know feel like I'm going around in circle....... going to look at expenditure again....
All going to plan I'll be debt free March 2010....3 years and counting... :T

I'll call Cornhill tomorrow, as said haven't a clue what insurance is for... Also the insurance I pay £3.20 to.... it's an income benefit assurance.. took it out in 1997, it runs for 13 years, so it ends 2010...... wonder how much it's worth just now? Just worked out that I've paid approx £345 into it..... might be cashing that in now....

Oh it states that the policy does not have a surrender valu and does not share in profits..... so does that mean i'd get nothing back if I was to cancel?

    debtcollector.

one recurrent theme seems to be you don't want to sell the house cos the kids might get upset.. but it might solve problems for you.

    Two deep questions

    1. Have you asked the kids? They may not even care, it'd be good to make a decision based on facts not assumptions
    2. Is it really that YOU don't want to sell up and move?

    Just wondered!

Water and car tax/ mot, service. Can the kids take packed lunches £40 is a lot for school dinners.School trips, amount for presents say £10 a month, emergencies i.e boiler packing up, new washing machine, cooker if they pack up.
The sheet looks good, but they are more likely to accept if you go to cab than if you do it yourself.
Does if really matter if it takes 60 years to clear the debt, i wouldn,t worry about it.
