strangely i didnt haveany problems with barclaycard or my HSBC cards when i had been calling them, they did both say that they by law had to send the default notices, HSBC have froze interest but i'm unsure about my barclaycard. But they have now received the 2 payments at lower agreed limit, so i think this is now when my plan officially kicks in!0

Forgot to say they wanted me to phone them back on the Free phone number with What & Who I owe money to, Been thinking I’m not  happy with discussing this on the phone & may re-send another letter of SOA to both.0

You dont have to speak to them on the phone, I havent spoken to any of my creditors in the 6 years of doing my own DMP.
Stick to your guns, communicate in writing only and refuse to answer any security questions (or just dont answer) it they call. Dont listen to them when they say they dont do DMPs, they all do; they have no option when customers hit financial difficulties. They either accept them or default the customer and sell the debt to a debt collection agency. Thats it for them, 2 options.
You can do it and once your DMP is all up and running it will be much less stressful, i promiseLight Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0 -
Thinking back the Bloke on the phone from MBNA/Virgin was rude & intimidating & trying to sound like it was all my fault !, maybe it is but they shouldn’t be like that on the phone, little does he know I had 1 f/t job & 4 p/t jobs on the go until the New Year & that I never missed a payment until then in years.0

Still haven’t heard back from HSBC,MBNA C/C, Nat West C/C & Virgin
Just been off the phone from HSBC phoning me wondering why I had missed a Loan Payment, I then explained that I was in finical difficulty & had written to them Recorded Delivery back on 4/2/11, he then went on to say can you make a payment over the phone, told him a letter had been sent with SOA & until I heard back I wouldn’t, he kept on so I said I would make a £1 payment, he then said he couldn’t except that ! (I did try), Same happened to me around 10 days ago with MBNA, I have set up a standing order to pay what I can afford at the moment even though they haven’t written back to confirm along with Virgin & Nat West credit cards.
I’m in the process of re writing letters to those who haven’t got back with my SOA.0 -
MBNA & HSBC are phoning me daily at the moment, we have caller display so don’t answer normally, the other day I did pick up the phone to hsbc & explained that I had some advice off the CCCS & have sent 2 letters now with SOA & what I can offered to pay, the person on the phone said ok we will wait for the letters & will NOT contact you by phone for 15 days, Mmmm, 2 days later it was hsbc again so had to repeat myself & then told him that the last person to phoned me said you would not contact me, told him the name of that person & what time he rang, he then quickly apologised & hung up.
MBNA more or less the same, sent 2 letters with SOA but they keep phoning, they have some how got hold of my works number & constantly phoning there, I work as a support worker in supported living so the person I look after has his own house, the manager warned me yesterday that mbna had phoned & she told them NOT to phone again, Funny thing is I never gave out that number for work, How did they get that ?0
