Hello, sorry if this is the wrong forum.
I am reducing my outgoings on toiletries lately, and I've found cheap substitutes that are just as good for almost everything BUT antiperspirant.

I usually use roll-on type as I find it actually works, but open to using any type really.

I can't find cheaper than £1 for a 50ml bottle, which lasts maybe a week or two. Shower gel I can get for 10p that lasts the same time or a bar of soap. Shaving cream and blades the same, etc. But antiperspirant is a !!!!!! to find cheap it seems.

Anyone here got the same problem and found some cheap stuff?

With many dearer antiperspirants, one application lasts for two days. I use Mitchum, which isn't cheap but one roll on lasts at least a couple of months. I cannot envisage buying a deodorant that only lasts a week or two, however cheap!

But they are only deoderants aren't they - not antiperspirants?

I had thought about getting one of them for OH as he ruins his shirts with the amount of roll-on he uses :( - but was under the impression that they don't actually prevent perspiration, only the smell :o.

ETA - We also use Cien, supermarkets own, etc. I never pay £1.

They're anti-perspirants. I use them. 30p a bottle. If they're sold out (as they often are) I use the own brand Men's, about 50p in ASDA.

I use a crystal and have for years..It costs me about £4.00 for at least a whole year and I find it works perfectly. I would not use antiperspirants anyway as we are meant to sweat ( that is the point of the sweat glands ) it is the smell most people dislike and these really sorted that and can be used anywhere on the body.. ie feet

Oh and they do sort of build up and I never ever get wet patches or anything like that

Hubby has just started using one and he works 12hr shifts in a warehouse and it seems to be working well for him aswell.

  • I use an antiperspirant called driclor - a small £4.79 bottle lasts me over a year - which is a roll on you use initially every night for a wee, then i use about once a fortnight and it stops your underarms sweating.

I just use cheap and cheerful body sprays for deodorising, which I dont really need cos Im not sweating!

I love the idea of using it for a wee...........I know you mean week but it still made me smile

I am really not sure that it does your body any good by not sweating though as how would it regulate itself ?

Try Mitchum - it's around £2.70 for 100ml but one bottle lasts for at least 4 months.
