PPI with Vanquis

Options
Hello, I've recently signed up for a Vanquis card to build rating.
When activating my card, I had a 20 min chat on the phone convincing the rep that I didn't need PPI as I have the money available to pay off card before I spend it.

Eventually she gave in and told me I was not signed up for their 'repayment option plan'.

On recieving my first statement, lo and behold, £1.85 charge for 'Repayment Option Plan'.

What's my course of action? I believe my main problem is, they may have a recording of my call, but I don't. How do I prove I specifically requested no PPI on my card?

    Hi there

If this was recently, write to ask them to provide you with a recording, if they do not hold this on disc, then written transcripts may help.
I believe these days all calls are recorded.
I assume the cancellation would be that of the first 30 days, and they must cancel on request, but I take it 30 days have passed?

The plan is itemized on my bill 15/02/2011. I will ring them tomorrow and ask on the phone for a refund, if not I'll try and get a recording as you say.

    Thanks.

    Hi there

In regards of the refund request, personally I think its best to do so in writing, and keep copies of everything you send and receive, this is in case you need to complain to the Financial ombudsman service later on, hopefully it will be resolved direct by the company where you will not have to complain to the FOS.

Good luck and please let us know how you get on, cheers.;)

Called up today and it's sorted, should be credited to my next balance. That said, I had to get them to change my DD to full payment again as they 'forgot' last time, so we'll see how this goes.
