fugifilm finepix S1600

has anyone ever used one?? I really want an slr, but cant afford a 'proper' one... this ones under £120 on amazon...

How good is it for action shots?? Like running dogs? My compact's shutter speed means that action shots are often blurry, i want something that will give me nice crisp pictures

And the zoom, is it done by a button, or do you twist the lense like on a slr?? Silly Q i know, but i had a mess around on a mates slr and loved the ease of zooming, was really quick compared to my compact :o

Not sure on this one, but I have a finepix s1730 bridge, and also had earlier Fuji bridge camera

The zoom is by button which extends the lens

Not tried action shots on mine, more landscape for me

Have you checked the review sites? Not being nasty here, just asking

Hmm, may just want one myself

MY daughter has one - it takes fantastic photos and good video. Don't know about action photos though. It has a lot of settings although it doesn't do RAW output. I myself have a Fujifilm Finepix S2800FD but I haven't really tested it fully yet - the photos are great though.

In the same situation. Wanted DSLR but no budget, recently bought a Finepix S2500HD which I am very happy with, but no experience with action pixs as yet. Button press zoom. From reading reviews on Amazon it appears (to me) that the S2800 is a step backward, which is why I opted for the 2500. You might like to check out ht tp://www.myfinepix.co.uk/ (remove the space between ht and tp) and enter your model number in the forum search box to get feedback from other users.

I'm not sure what you mean by shutter speed causing problem there would not be to much difference in shutter speed between both cameras in the same light.
