Immersion switch for E7

We are on E7 and have storage heating.
The immersion heater has only one switch (not E7) which we have tended to leave on as we are not home during the day and not using the water.
In a previous property the tank was heated only at night on the E7 and we had another switch which we could "boost" the water during the day if needs be.
How big a job is it to set up a similar function on our current tank. i.e. have a E7 switch which we could leave on but it would go off outside the E7 time and another switch for boosting if we need it.

Do you have a dual element immersion heater (this normally just heats the top part of the tank and runs off peak rate)? The main element heats the whole tank and runs on cheaper rate E7.
