  • We have the old shape Civic Type R (55 plate) and it's by far the best car we've ever owned. It's been completely reliable in the four years we've had it and it's a great drive (although the Recaro seats help in that department). It's got plenty of room and we've carried two adults and two babies in car seats with two Quinny Buzz prams in the boot (plus other stuff). The worst thing about it is that it has the turning circle of the QE2 which can be annoying but it's still a great car. :)
  • Also consider the 2 litre in S type 5 door spec, daughter has one.

Chain driven camshaft, thoroughly good car and totally reliable.

Yeah you shouldn't have any trouble with these cars, thoroughly well engineered.

Love those VTEC engines as well -- hilarious fun.

I have the 1.7 diesel which is a great little car. as the type r owner mentioned it turns like an oil tanker, but that's it's only downfall - oh, and no cruise control :(

my diesel gets 65mpg at 70-75 on motorway runs, and is a great car
