It looks like data this week is going to show lending at record lows again, along with sky high house prices(and they are high) and along with the huge deposits that FTB's now need, all i have to say to the now kicked out Labour Government
Those poncing of welfare(and i don't mean all), and those in the top 5% income bracket are doing just fine, But for the rest of us there is not much too aspire too.
And before the Bull trolls(bears in sheep's clothing) start their feeble attempts to rub the nose of those priced out in the smelly stuff, i would like to point out, or even remind there is a list of people who bought into the property market since 2005 who are having a nasty time, some in a living hell. So as much as i admit times are not brilliant for me and many others at this time, at least i am debt free, sleep soundly EVERY NIGHT, and have had some kind of a life this weekend, this time it was covent garden hotel and took in a show.
This housing debacle goes much deeper than the medias only reporting of the "poor FTB", it might be tough for them, but they will see their rejection of homeownership as a blessing in 2 years time.

You, Sibley, Smeagold, Hamish, Geener, Macaque, Brit. I swear that if a psychologist wanted to do a study on a variety of people with various issues this forum would be a perfect place to start.
Covent Garden? PHRASES IN CAPITALS? Sleeping soundly? What are you talking about? Get a grip of yourself man.0 -

Unfortunately what some people forget is what Labour inherited from the previous Thatcherite Conservatives........... Yes Labour made mistakes but a lot of the damage was done in the 80's. People forget.
The worlds economies run in cycles and there was always gonna be a bust after a boom. People just kept thinking the only way was up. Oh and then it's everyone else's fault when they're in the brown sticky stuff!
Don't think the current ones are any better than anyone before but we'll see in 10 years time.0 -
I think the Tories are already showing they would have done nothing to prevent the house price bubble if they were in power.0

A quick reality check those pesky conservatives

At some point Cleaver I think we've gone through the looking glass on this board. As I'm not one to implicate the Illuminati, the Rothschilds, bankers, lizards from Middle Earth, baby boomers, BTLers or gold rampers; I'll go with blaming Gaddafi and his psychotropic Nescafe. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? May I say that The_Fox talks a lot of sense.
"there is a list of people who bought into the property market since 2005 who are having a nasty time, some in a living hell".
Some would deny that statement, I have witnessed this recently, although "living hell" might be taking it a little far, the chap I spoke to wasn't having an easy ride.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0
