    found this
Will I notice any differences to my Halifax account?
If you have been sent an Immediate Faster Payment, in most cases it will show in your account within 2 hours and could arrive at any time throughout the day

I guess Im being a bit keen, was hoping to move the money from smile-reward acc-reward acct-smile all in 10mins or so to get the £10 this month but I guess I will just have to keep checking back to see if it arrives......does anyone knows how faster payments show (the code) on smile accounts when they are sent--are they differentiated from slow transfers?
  • Is smiles banking like the Co-op's? If so have you looked at your payment enquiry screen, under the customer service tab. If there is an A under the outcome column, then it went faster, if not and its a different letter then it probably went by bacs.

A few banks take a while to register it on-line. Faster payments complete in seconds.
You will have been informed at the time wether it went the faster payments router or not.
If you check your transaction do you see a Transaction reference number (18 alphanumeric)

"the payment amount is within the faster payment scheme limits"

I loved this... total rubbish!, it's up to the individual institutions what limits they impose.
  • Looks like it went by bacs, it does that sometimes, bit of a pain, but you will have to wait :-(

looks like they sent it the slow way....cant really understand why though, was within the limits they have on the website.... I love smile...well I love the idea of smile as a bank....its just that they keep giving me reasons not to stay with them....I can just about tolerate the low (really low) interest rates but to be honest when they do something like this which messes up my cunning plan to make £10 I start to question if my money wouldnt be better in a Lloyds vantage account after all.....Im so torn.....ethical me v mercinary me

anyway have sent them a secure message, but done really expect a decent reply, and not any reply within the next 24hrs...there was a time you could expect a reply in a few hours and it to be spot on
