There is no provision for school governors to have maternity leave. I am left with two choices...ask them to accept my apologies for a period of time, while I am on mat leave, or take (if they will accept it) the baby to meetings. What would you do?

My term is up in april but I haven't been to a meeting since May last year because I had Freja (missed 2 meeting for the girls physio) and I was not allowed to take her with me.. how ridiculous is that? What would she do? Dribble on their biscuits?!

a little thought about the Governors issue, I am one, we have a budget to cover claims for baby sitting not much use if you're breast feeding I know but you may be able to claim if you have to pay for someone to watch the child(ren) so you can go to governors....

and yes I know I said I was off to bed, I am now

    Honest

And CONGRATULATIONS bet that feels good!!!

No flying done today - busy visiting people and am about to go and visit Iggy :D He still needs to stay at the vet but he is much, much better. Can't wait to give him cuddles :D Then I have to do childrens tea and get ready to go out for a girlie night - don't you just love them?!

Thanks to everyone for the kind wishes about Iggy grouphugg.gif

I'm like this, too; have you managed to get any medical bods to take it seriously? All I get is "well go to bed half an hour earlier". Like that's going to help.... just gives me an extra half hour to lie there staring at the ceiling.

My GP has been brilliant but her advice has been to try getting a bed time routine in place, with all the usual suspects, bath with lavender oil in, milky drink and trying to get to bed by half nine. But like you I'd just ended up laying there wide awake.

Pigpen :j well done, you must be chuffed :D

greenbee how weird is this? There is no provision for school governors to have maternity leave. I am left with two choices...ask them to accept my apologies for a period of time, while I am on mat leave, or take (if they will accept it) the baby to meetings. What would you do?
Interesting... our vicar was on maternity leave, so she was considered to be on maternity leave from her role as church governor. I guess you should ask them what they would prefer. The alternative is to resign. I'm assuming that there is no provision for maternity leave because it is voluntary (so our vicar got maternity leave as it is part of her job) and many people carry on doing voluntary work while on leave. Also, they don't pay you... and maternity leave is ultimately about safeguarding your job.

Well done on the debt repayment piggers... I'm glad to see you have plans for the money you've been spending on it...

For those suffering from sleep problems, I used a sleep CD for a while and I think it worked. I was having reflexology at the time, and moved my sessions to the evening. I also had epsom salt baths which do tend to wipe me out.

Agents interviewed and a few bits and pieces of work sorted out.
