I wonder how many people realise that the OFSTED inspection criteria changed last year and what was good under the old system would now be judged as satisfactory. It's very likely that nothing much has changed at the school and if you have no complaints (and your children are happy there), then why change? You could wait a few weeks for the inspection report to be published to parents so that you can see the reason for the judgement, as well as the action plan for the school. A judgment of satisfactory doesn't mean that the school is close to being poor - it may have narrowly missed the 'good' category. OK - best get off my soap box now. I hope I've not offended you. :o

That is what I thought too. Ofsted reports are only part of the story, visiting the school, speaking to pupils, parents, staff if possible is also a good way to get a feel for the school.

I thought it was April before we heard but having just checked email I see that Miss A has been allocated a place at our chosen school :T

:j Really pleased for you, I hope you have a wonderful time there Miss A
I haven't heard about DD2, but frankly I only put one choice and if she doesn't get that I will defer her entry for the year, she's only 4 in August.

Primary places come out on a different day here I think. I didn't know you could defer now, 4 in August sounds so young to start school.

A little flying achieved here around invigilating, bank, shopping etc.

It is so cold again, fire lit but not making a huge difference so I may put the heating on too.

Five minutes on here and then I need to start the prep for dinner and S&S the shower room.

Well it is stropsville in here.. DD4 has been told off 3 times.. once more she is ready for bed, DS1 has been told off for shouting, DS3 has been told off for talking absolute bollards and for getting cereal while I was starting to do dinner, tesco have been told off for sending me rancid chickns so I now have no idea what to have for dinner, DD5 has been told off at school for not going to class after lunch and messing in the loo and by me for being in trouble at school, DD1 told DS1 off for swearing at her when she tried getting him up for college this morning and DD3 has been told off for leaving a !!!!y nappy on the floor...

I have no idea what we will eat now, I have tummy ache and OH is in a strop and behaving like a 2 y/o

Have you done the pro's and con's list?

I can only tell you what happened in our house:
For us we chose for me to be at home, but it was at the point we knew we'd be debt free. (and we were expecting at the time)
I still worry that I've made a mistake and should be working - DH says it's quality of life.
But we're bad when I work because I'm tired -
    we get takeaway-tastic.
The house doesnt get touched, but then I was commuting over an hour each day on the motorway, it'll be different for you if you're getting a bit of WFH.
Our dogs never got walked and I've put on 3 dress sizes during that job (It was only like 6 months too!!)
Does LO like nursery? Will 2 days cause issues?
    What does your gut say?
Are you unsure about the councilors? What makes you cautious about them?
How many extra hours would it be?
I dont understand council stuff - why does the time of year make you hesitate?

Thats probably not much help, just loads more questions <shrug>

    Whoops..

Well the insulation is done and tbh I genuinely think I can feel a difference in the place already. Tho I have had the doors open all morning here.

I had to move some of my living room furniture out to allow them to put in an air vent so that meant all my floors behind the sofa and the like have had a good clean today too.

I then fell asleep hence the whoops so that is pretty much all I have got done today. Well I did some study as well.

Anyway I am going out to my support group shortly so will hopefully catch up proper tomorrow..

Love, Hugs and Spoons all around
    Sarah xx

PS - The insulation men where lovely and I highly recommend getting it done if you haven't all ready got it. I just called the 0800 number on the energy saving website.. Fab and free or affordable depending on circumstances xx

How flamin hard is it to open a bl00dy childs bank account!!! Grrrrrrrr Took the kids to the only bank thats open in the afternoon after school has finished to be told I needed to make an appointment but couldnt have 1 for a fortnight!!

I have forms from another bank in the village but that closes at 2.30 and isnt open on a Saturday, do the kids need to be with me to open accounts or would their signatures, their ID and my id be enough? Hummm

Can I ask for some advice off ebay experts. I sold an item on Sunday and the £90 payment was paid into my paypal account immediately. The item is very bulky and heavy so was pick up only which the advert said clearly, twice! I've sent two messages to the buyer to ask when he wants to pick it up and they've not contacted me. I've noticed their address is down south and i'm up North so hoping they don't expect me to post! Do I just send daily messages until they contact me? Thanks xx

Hey mudders, glad your feeling better....! (shhhh, will keep it quiet though)

If there is a distance to travel, they might be trying to coincide the collection with something or someone else. Im sure you will hear from them soon. I wouldnt email daily though - wait a couple of days xx

Right.... Ive read some of the thread and calmed down, cleaned some of the kitchen in a furious anger and now I am calm I will post...

SOMEONE.... has left a tube of superglue on the kitchen worktop...the silver foil type coating off the ouside of the tube is now glued on to the work surface in a big lump of superglue...

Is there anyway to get it off?
