Sell Quick

Anyone sold their house problem free through one of the companies offering a quick sale?

I know two people IRL who have done this problem free-although you do have to be prepared that you have to accept a very low price. About 60% of market value-obviously this has more impact the higher the price of your house. Make sure you chose one which doesn't charge an admin or val fee and has a short tie in period (i.e the time you are commited to before the sale completes-some say 6 months!!!!). Also if they send out a contract read the small print carefully and maybe get someone with legal knowledge to look over it. If you find a company, google the name and look for what people are saying about the company-if their are any bad reviews or warnings.
I do think this should only be a last resort after all other options have failed though!
  • Best sound advice is to steer clear of these so called companies !

Only repeating what a friend told me IRL who used such a company who I spoke to since I last posted. I am in no way saying the OOP should go with one of those companies.
I am in a desperate situation to sell, our buying going AWOL on week of exchange. Don't want to lose purchase property so going to see if estate agents will offer the house at 65% of MV to their BTL investors (we live in a area which is largely rental-so am hopeful) as I would still rather use the estate agents!

These companies are almost all scam artists. They will offer you an attractive-sounding price, tie you up into a contract, and then drop the price at the last minute, leaving you to either back out of the deal and pay thousands in penalty charges, or accept a far lower price than you had originally agreed.

Much better just to drop the price by 20-30% yourself and achieve a quick sale on the open market.

    What does IRL stand for?
  • IRL = In Real Life

People IRL use too many TLAs (Three Letter Acronyms) IMO (In My Opinion) :-)
