Hi all,
i am planning on selling some of my uni book s from my 1st yr (am in my 2nd yr now).
Does anyone know what time of the year is the best for selling them? I was wondering if it would be the begining of September, as thats when students start getting the reading lists for their 1st yr?

If through Amazon, I've always found the summer break was best.0

I'd start immediately after A level results as DD's reading list came out about a week after results day, however make sure that none of the books are going to be of any use to you in year 2 first.
Does your uni have a 2nd hand book stall at the Freshers Fair or in your department. These would also increase your chances of getting rid of them.0 -
Most people will buy your books in the beginning of the summer break. I think it is more psychological. People are all pumped up to study for the next courses in teh beginning and they buy all the books ans resources. This zeal dies away slowly, and the sale of books must be lesser as time passes.

So it looks like June time is the best time to sell them i think (is that the begining of summer break?).
Thanks guys.0 -
For first year books, I would put them up a few days after the A-level results come out, because then people know where they're going. If you can use a site like Play or Amazon where you can leave the stuff up until someone buys it rather than eBay."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

Consider whether you will need them in the future though: I've got books that I kept in my desk at work for quick reference, can't remember everything and textbooks are quicker to look up in than notes."Every single person has at least one secret that would break your heart. If we could just remember this, I think there would be a lot more compassion and tolerance in the world."— Frank Warren0
