How long will cupcakes last?

I have just had given me the most beautiful iced cup cakes (butter icing) made yesterday. I have put them in cake tin and a snap seal tupperware tub, how long will they last? I have people coming fri for ds b day and was hoping they will still be as nice thenx

  • I wouldn;t take the risk - I'd bake more fresh on friday morning :)

    They may freeze, but I've only ever done that before icing, so someone else will have to advise you on that.

    Yep, I'm with PenPen on this one.

    I suppose you could scrape the icing off, freeze, then re-ice after defrosting - if it's worth the effort, or (non) points :)

  • I've frozen cupcakes with a butter icing variant, they were absolutely fine.

    Perhaps you could freeze and bring out on Thursday morning then if by Thursday evening you felt they really weren't suitable for serving on Friday you could do another lot. . . but they probably will be fine.
