Hiya, alot of us have been comping for many many years and it may seem like everyone is winning big prizes but many people don't win anything at all and big prizes don't often come around, maybe a couple a year.
Last year I was amazingly lucky but most of my wins were from competitions where you had to purchase the product, things like McVities where you had to buy biscuits, I won an ebook reader. I won a netbook, £230 Boots vouchers, Heat subscription, 3 months daily Graze pack and £50 iTunes voucher from entering the barcode of a Drench bottle last year, I won a poloaroid 2 camera from 7up last year and a smartphone from mccains microchips.
I had my first big win in my fifth month back into comping which was the ebook reader, I was ecstatic.
Must get back into those purchase necessary ones again, I loved themComping wishlist for 2017

I've been comping since October to relieve the boredom of job hunting!
I entered comps all through November (just over 500) and didn't win anything. I won Selfridges vouchers on the 1st day of advent comps!
I won an ipod touch in january and have won a couple of small things too. (see signature)
Don't get too hung up on winning, just enjoy it as a hobby and any wins are a bonus.
There are lots of comps to enter and it's up to you how many / which ones you enter.
HAve fun. Thanks to those that post the comps!!

you have to be in it to win it as they say

You've got to be in it to win it, although I've only just re-started comping, so fingers crossed for the both of us :beer:0

I've been entering comps on here on and off for a good few months, although in the past few weeks I've spent an hour or so each day going though them and entering new one's. So far I've not won anything from them, although alot of the comps haven't finished yet, closing dates not past yet, there is quite a few over the next few days, so hopefully I'll be back on before the weeks out to say I've won Daybreak prize, as well as a trip to mauritius!!
Good luck and as ColaCube above says, if you're not in it, you can't win it.Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -
PS: I love reading the stories of people winning prizes too. Thanks to all the competition posters.0

:cool:I started comping as i stumbled across this site - i entered a few back in June last year and about a week later i got an email from fabulous stating i had won a garnier sun tan lotion comp - £50.00 worth of kit!! I couldn't believe I had actually won something - from then onwards i couldn't stop the comping bug and like others say don't take it serious as you could win small prizes for ages then out of the blue you get a big un. My two big wins since June last year was a chair from Sofa.com worth £750.00 (back in Sept) then in Jan i received in the post out of the blue £1,000 Marks & Spencer vouchers from a Red Online Comp. I enter about 150 comps a day, less at weekends and it works out on average i win 2 prizes a week. Most are little prizes that keep my coming spirits up!!! Hope this is helpful to you!!June 2019 wins: AURELIA Eye Dew:o0

I started comping in May last year when I stumbled across MSE looking for money off vouchers for restaurants
I entered competitions throuhout the whole of May and heard nothing, but at the beginning June got a WEM to say I'd won a limited edition bottle of David Beckham Instinct Ice. It was really that which made me carry on comping, as when I started I never really believed I'd win anything anyway. It was only worth about £15 but I was over the moon
I'd won it on May, just hadn't been told about it until the next month, which is often the case with a lot of comps. You think you haven't won anything, but really the company is just taking it's time telling you
I find that thought always keeps me motivated to keep comping.
I've won one or two little things ever month, and have only ever had two 'big' wins. Around the start of when I began comping I did a survey won £100 of highstreet vouchers, and last monday I got a direct message on twitter to say that I've won an amazon kindle 3G which is selling on amazon for around £150 (although I'm keeping it for myself)
It can get a bit disheartening when you only win something small like a piece of makeup and you see someone on the boards has just won their third holiday :rotfl: but keep at it! Everyone deserves their wins and one day it might be youEven the small wins give you a little boost - after all, whatever you win has been given to you for free!
I couldn't say how many comps I entered before I won anything, or even how many I enter now - I tend to search by end date and do competitions that end the next day or in a few days, although I've missed quite a few dailies only searching this way, so I'd recommend to keep checking the main boards regularly too.
Good Luck!0 -
I enter thousands of comps a year - I wouldn't do any if this forum didn't exist - had a few big wins, and lots of small ones. I do it as an obsessive hobby. Enter a comp and then forget about it - if a prize turns up, great, if not its only a few clicks on the computer & a bit of time when I would have probably been watching TV or reading.0

I enter 20-30 competitions a day since last july I have won a t-shirt,2 books and 4 bags kettle chips, its defiantely purely luck but as everyone is saying you got to be in it to win it!0
