Sell Uni Computer Science Books

Options
Just wondered where was the best place to sell some Maths/Computer Science books that I received at uni, but no longer need as I'm changing course.

I managed to sell 1 on Amazon, but the others are not selling on there. Is there any book shops that offer cash for new books?

  • What about sticking up an ad on the department notice board?

What I did with my Psychology books when I transferred course was to return the books to the bookshop, who then let me exchange them for the philosophy books I needed.

Most universities or student unions will have a second-hand bookshop which you could try. Or put up signs in the department or in the library.

    eBay?

I always look there for books before I inevitably buy from Amazon.

Might want to keep a hold of them until the start of term next year though - most people that actually buy books will have done so by now I imagine.
  • Thanks for all your replies, I'm not in the university anymore, got to wait until next year to start the new course.

I'll give eBay a try, but wondered if any of the big bookstores usually pay something in return of receiving brand new books?

In my experience, only if they sold them. I've only ever seen Blackwells and John Smiths do this [and at the beginning of semester.]
