Go go gadget moblie competition scam! do I have a leg to stand on?

I'm pretty certain I was scammed on my mobile this morning I recieved a push email sending me to
xxx:\\mi-club.net/quickPage.html?page=34149

If you look at that link, for god sake don't click o any of the answers if you are viewing this on a moblie.

I clicked on several of them I think i entered all 3 competitons twice. I though the competitons were free. Next thing i know my phone is flooded with texts saying i've entered and that theres a £6 charge for each competiton!

I would say lesson learnt but i entered them 5 times i think, I got 5 texts back! Thats £30. which to me is a lot of money to me at the moment, There is a terms and conditons page but is wasn't very visiable at the time.

The texts gave a number 08445796348 so I've I rung it. Was an english guy on the end said someone will call me back in less then 48hrs. I'm not holding my breath. is there anything i can do at all to get out of this as there's no question its a scam! Anyone help??

That page does mention the costs in teensysmall print at the bottom, but you're in luck - it is NOT a subscription service like the worst mobile scam companies a few years back.

the questiion is how many times did i enter it. I have a bad feeling it was more then 5. I just rung my moblie provider and she gave me the companies email. Don't know what good it will do not still! I texted back stop all. not a lot more i can do now though i guess, just wait could I re-claim anything? or am i totally up !!!!! creak without a paddle here.

If as you stated earlier, you entered multiple times, then yes, they can charge you multiple times.

Ive just recieved 5 messages from this firm and have 100% not entered any quiz either through phone or email. As yet nothing is showing on my online bill but im very concerned at O2 lack of interest saying they will not refund the amount should it appear on my bill. I will not ring back or text as you can be sure they`ll be asking for more personal details from you - anyone else out there in the same boat

i spose its possible that the number is a con in itself I spoke on there for under a minute the guy seemed in no way wanting to keep me on the phone. I'm going to wait and see how much it is once orange have updated my bill if its over £30 I going to try and take some some of stand.

Thats what im thinking is that the customer care number is how they are going to make their money as every text finished with care? then ring the customer care number - still as yet i have not been charged but we will see.
