Replacing skirting boards with tiles

Hi,

We're replacing the 'orrible laminate floor in our kitchen with tiles. What I'd like to do is pull off the skirting boards and replace them with cuts of the floor tiles. The tiles we've bought aren't finished on the edge - it's been suggested that we could just paint the edges to match the walls. Has anyone done this and does it look ok?

Thanks

would suggest using tile edge trim for a neat and uniformed finish.
    good luck.
  • if you are confident with grinder, after you have finished the tiles and grouted, next day you can go slowly with the grinder over the edges..
have done it couple of times and the clients loved it both times.
is you do, beware of the grinder knocking back.. as i said you need to be confident holding the grinder ..or try what the 2 guys above sugested

the do sell, ready made ones, but unlikely to be same colour and size as yours
