We have used NW debit and credit cards in the past, but are now going with Halifax Clarity for spending and cash withdrawal. Works out better than NW debit, especially for smaller withdrawals.

We have an account each, with 2 cards on each, so as HBOS account holders, get the £5 Reward. If we spend £300 on each card, that is a free £10 every month.

Once we are over the £300 each, we will use the NW CC to keep the account going.

Will also put a couple of hundred in our Flexaccounts as back-up cash. Always good to have a "plan B" !

Thank you for all the replies, but no-one has answered my question about cancelling my BA Amex and/or Egg Money (now probably losin the cashback as Barclays takes over) etc.
