Credit cards abroad

Hi there
I have a credit card, which i applied for when i was living abroad in new zealand back in 2005. 6 years on i am struggling to pay the min payments due to the currently climate. i have attempted emailing and i am asked to call...however due to the time differences this is quite hard.
Its now been 2 weeks they have sent me letters as I have not been able to transfer funds over to the account to make up these payments.
can you tell me where i stand, as am struggling to see the light in regards to paying this money back and the interest is mounting which is why this credit card appears to be a never ending debt.
on a positive note all my finance and accounts are up to date here, but i do not want to recieve a knock on the door tomorrow from a finance company from new zealand to say 'wheres my money' or somehow my credit rating here being damaged.. but at the same time want to find some king of solution to this.
the bank is ASB.
Thanks
