I was using my pc this morning when "system tools" scanner came up I didnt get a chance to close it before it had finished and the computer froze

I turned it off and when i have turned it back on it wont load!

I have tried started in safe mode but thats not even an option on the list

I really hope the whole thing is not messed up now

Help please!

Im not an expert and had my own problems with this and not yet sure fully removed from my own system, but i have got it usable again by doing the below.

What i did was boot into safe mode and use ccleaner to stop the start up process ( run ccleaner then tools option then start up ) that was a random string of numbers and letters, read online this is how it appears. Think it said location was program data but all the rest were in program files so it stood out.

Then booted back into normal mode and it allowed Malwarebytes to run and delete the infection.

Have posted my logs on this forum to get a second opinion if its been fully deleted and left nothing behind

It is probably do disk check especially if you switched off rather than using windows shutdown. Give it a little while, did it give a lot of info about loading programs/dlls ?

I have managed to startup the pc using the xp disk...

I have downloaded rkill and the recent version of malawarebytes onto the usb stick and now the usb ports on the pc are not working, they were fine yesterday

Does anyone have any idea on how to get them working again? thanks :)

We got this virus last night.. we started in safe mode then did a system restore to the day before. then ran malawarebytes and ccleaner.

we seem to be getting it from ebay.. the first time it happened was when hubby was on there and since doing the restore its tried to install another 4 times all whilst on ebay. every time the pop up has popped up we've turned off the interned and held down the power button... so far we've not had it back.. but now we're saying away from ebay for a bit.
