The OP saidI normally fill my car up
Then saidmy £20 would technically go further
(I'd love a car that took £20 to fill)
The only real way iof finding out your tru MPG is to fill the car, note the mileage and drive until it needs filling back up. Note the miles, note the liters used, etccccc0 -
I'm no Tesco's or supermarket fan, but I think the theory they have inferior fuel is load of nonesense and no more than an urban myth.
Show me the proof and I'll believe it, but all you hear is hyperthetical stories about it being poor quality. Yet the same tankers probably fill up other garages locally.
I had an LPG Combo van some years back and I drove it a hell of a lot for work.
I tended to use Morrisons LPG, as it was only 28p a litre.
However, the LPG tank would need a clean out every x thousands of miles and the mechanic said that Morrisons LPG was full of crap unlike an LPG depot he recommended.
After using this recommendation until the next service the sludge was far less next time it was cleaned out.0 -
I would be surprised if there is a significant mpg difference with various brands of petrol/diesel. Modern cars are metered to deliver a certain amount of fuel for the engine to operate.
I am convinced that any differences in mpg figurers are to do with the fuel stations pumps not giving the full quota.0 -
Buy the cheapest you can find unless you drive something special that needs higher octane fuel (ie Tesco 99/Shell V-Power etc)

I'd be surprised at that as supermarkets & fuel stations don't have their own brand gas - Morrisions is supplied by Calor I believe (as is Shell) whereas Total uses Flogas.I had an LPG Combo van some years back and I drove it a hell of a lot for work.
