OU study is by distance learning with some day schools and the occasional evening in the early stages. There are a couple of replies on the other thread so do read them as well as any answers you may get here.0

ou is home study with tutorials that you need to go to somewhere about 6 a year.
with the social work degree you need to do two 6month placements full time within the 3 years. good oportunity if you can. ou are very very good and if you put the work in it is v. easy0 -
I wouldnt say it was 'v. easy' at all! The material is supplied so if you put the hours in and do the work you should gain a pass but expect to spend time to read the material and do the assignments.
In my experience the OU is an excellent way of gaining qualifications especially if you have other commitments. It is a well recognised degree and there is help at hand from your allocated tutor (the quality of tutor suppport depends on your tutor).
I am currently studying a 60 point level 3 course and it says allow around 15-17 hours of study per week for 9 months, I would say this is about right although depends on your level of education to start with, if you are not used to essay writing for example it may take longer as you will have to learn how to write an essay on top of your course work in order to do it!
Dont think its the easy option, it is flexible but you need to put the hours in. Good luckSave £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000
