What is chicken leather?

Looking for new purse, found this 270711460120. Chicken leather?:eek::eek:

I deserve a medal for reading the whole thing, but I still can't decide whether it is the skin from chicken legs, or a plastic imitation. At a start of 1p and free postage I guess it's fake, but whichever I don't think I can bear having that in my bag and having to take it out to pay for things. (Don't know whether I'm too squeamish or too self-conscious to be seen with it!:rotfl::rotfl:)

I gave up, I don't think I ever seen a description so long. Why do they have to use different colours, fonts, sizes? My eyes hurt.

The one I posted is $75 on that site you listed Barneysmum. I'm astounded at what people produce. Perhaps I shouldn't be so squeamish if she's selling the exact same thing, it certainly has some of the same photos as the $75 one.

No, it's no good, even after a long talk with myself I really can't face that every day :D

That's what comes of searching by price, I must learn that search by 'cheap' means found by 'cheap' ,both monetary and looks.
  • I have to say I don't like the look of any of them, but why is chicken leather any more unpleasant than cow leather? Its all skin of an animal? Not being funny here, I just don't understand, its not like chickens are endangered, etc.

I think it's because leather is usually smooth or suede texture,or like pigskin, and this chicken leg skin, and also crocodile and snake skin, seems highly textured. Not my kind of thing at all, although I really like that colour. I'm happy with fake leather or fabric for handbags, except fabrics sometimes aren't waterproof. Lots of people seem to have bought them, but I'll keep looking.

The text on the ebay listing is very similar to that on the second site.

The ebay seller's listings are private so it is hard to tell what each comment refers to but here is one example:

Dishonest & terrible seller. Sells fake & very poor quality items, buyer BEWARE!Buyer: Member ID laraade ( Feedback score of 343iconTealStar_25x25.gif)
