Flowers by interflora

Options
I ordered sme flowers locally for my brothers funeral. They were to be sent by interflora and were to be delivered to my brothers house so that they could go with his coffin. By the time we all left for the funeral the flowers had not arrived. On the way to the crematorium I was having to ring the florists to find out where the flowers were. They were very helpful and contacted the florists who were sending them and arranged for them to go straight to the crematorium. After the ceremony the flowers were there. Have I a right to a refund or compensation as the order clearly stated that they were to be delived to the house by a certain time? It was upsetting enough without having to chase the flowers. If I am, who do I get the refund from? My local florist or the florist that provided the flowers?

My guess is you might get a partial refund.

You contract is with the people you paid, so you need to contact them. If they farmed out the actual delivery to someone else they they should chase it up with that company themselves.

You need to take this up with Interflora.

I would write a letter of complaint if I were you.It is much harder for them to fob you off.

I hope you get somewhere with them.

I once ordered some white wine for my friend with some flowers and they delivered red which my friend did not drink. They arranged for the florist who delivered it to contact my friend. They had the cheek to ask her to go their shop and exchange it.I was so embarrassed. They did in the end take her the correct one but she had to give them the other one back.

I emailed Interflora and all they did was apologize that on this occasion they had let me down.
  • Thanks. I'll go and see the florist I ordered them from first. They were very helpful and apologetic but of course it was out of their hands. If I do get a partial refund I will be able to donate to my brothers favourite charity.

    Thats a lovely idea.

It must have been horrible for you at such a stressful time when they didn't arrive, but glad they did get them there later for you.
  • Interflora should refund you the cost of the flowers, ring them up and tell them you aren't happy. They are normally quite good at refunding, the florist who sent the order out won't be quite so willing to give you any money back, and your contract was with interflora, the florist is just a third party who interflora then passed the order to.

I am so sorry you have lost your brother, happened to me 6 year ago. He was diagnosed with Alzheimers at 50 years of age. really aggresive and was dead by the time he was 52, really really heartbreaking. Very very sad . I try not to dwell on it and remember when we were kids growing up together in Newcastle, it is a great comforr, 6 years on and here come the tears.

I would never, ever use Interflora after seeing a programme on TV, they are bullies to the small independant and the biggest in the extreme.

I look on the internet, find a florist local to the place and either pay over the phone or sed a cheque. They are grateful for your business and do not have to pay commission to Interflora. Which can kill a small business stone dead.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
