Hello,
Just wondering if anyone can help.
I use ancestry for family history stuff. When I try to save an image from there, its saves as XFile (.x) - I can't open this or find a program that will.
Have no probs saving images from other sites.
Confused...

AFAIK, .x is not a valid extension for any image format. I don't know what "ancestry" is, as your description is too vague, but whatever it is (a program? a website?) it probably isn't functioning correctly.
If it really is an image but with a corrupted filename, you could try renaming it with one of the valid image format extensions (e.g. .jpg) and then trying to open it with whatever image editing program you have installed on your PC.0 -
Not sure I understand what's going on, have you tried a different Browser?Stompa0

I suspect they may have done that on that website to prevent you from copying it for free.0

Sorry should have been clearer, its ancestry.co.uk and the images are saveable, you are given the option to save to your computer, or to your online family tree, have tried it in chrome, firefox and IE, driving me crackers!
Been like this over a month, prior to this I had no problems
I've emailed them 3 times and not had a reply so thought I would try here0 -
I use one-note all the time - It's excellent for taking a screen pic & automatically saves it for you
One-note is included in MS word package & you need to open one note first in order to use it, then you just click on the windows key & 'S'
