Santander Have Done Me Over?

So I had an overdraft of 250GBP with Santander and I'd gone over that and was getting charged 100GBP a month for it. I was eventually in to an unauthorised overdraft of 570GBP.
I rang them on the 7th of January and we came to the agreement of me paying 80GBP per month on the 24th of every month until it's paid off. And in return the lady on the phone said she would stop any more 100GBP charges, and even said,
"oh there is another 100GBP charge to go out on the 12th, I'll stop that now for you and any future charges."
So on the 22nd of January I log in and see that the 100GBP charge went out on the 12th of January (even though she said she'd stop it.) and ANOTHER was due to come out on the 12th of February.
On the 24th I sent 160GBP from my Paypal account into my Santander account to cover two months worth of payments. It arrived in to my Santander account on the 2nd of February.
By which point I'm getting letters saying I've broken the terms and constant phone calls when I'm not at home.
The reason I left it until the last day to transfer money in was because i was dubious about paying the money in and it just paying off extra charges that I shouldn't even have had because she told me she'd freeze them.
SO ISN'T IT THEM WHO HAVE BROKEN THEIR TERMS? NOW I HAVE A LETTER SAYING I'M GETTING A DEFAULT AGAINST MY NAME AND TO CUT UP MY CARD "INTO MANY PIECES."
Am I at fault here or what? I don't know what to say when I ring up...

It takes 3-5 days to send money from PayPal to Santander (or to any other bank). You can't send the money on the due date and expect it to get there in time.
Sorry, it is you who has broken the terms. You didn't ensure the money was there on the due date. There's no reason you couldn't have done it earlier and then disputed the charges.urs sinserly,

Not only that but it may be conditional that you meet the agreed repayment before they remove charges.Best Regards

How on earth did my original post make it sound like I have lots of money lying around in my paypal account?
I sold my dslr camera on ebay for 200 so i could put the money into my santander account actually.
But I've seen where I went wrong. I should have just put 80 in, and then waited until this month to put another 80 in rather than putting double in the first month.0 -

OK, apologies for the mixup.
But where you went wrong was not paying money into the account on the date agreed. Putting in more would not be a problem (unless you were then going to leave it the next month, in which case again that'd probably be a breach of terms). You just did it late.urs sinserly,

Santander are doing me over too.
They say I owe them £174 of unauthorised overdraft charges and unpaid standing order charges.
Just got a new statement in the post today saying I owe them another £125 in charges for having charges on my account.
They are having a laugh, right?!
How do you completely escape them as I bet next month they will add more!0 -

The default notice should state by law an amount to pay, and a date to pay that amount by, to prevent a default being recorded on your credit file.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

is this an old A & L account or a Santander account? They do not charge £100 p/m for being overdrawn! they charge £25 pcm for being o.d and other chgs if dd's and standing orders reverse or card payments are made. These should have been suspended whn you made an arrangement, but they would re apply if you broke the arrangement, which you did. Alos, if you ever have any delays in payments or cannot make the payment, then it is always advisable to call them to let them know this, then they can re set the agreement you have without being penalised. Also, if you had stuck to the initial agreement and charges were due, then you can call the collections area and they will deal with the pending charges for you. Live well laugh often, love much.
1 overdraft with Santander paid off, credit card almost gone, 1 overdraft that has been halved!! V chuffed with myself!!! :T0 -

How about paying them the money you owe them and took from them without asking their permission?
Just a thought, I suppose.0
