Evening All.
I shall be dipping in & out of the thread tonight as I am cracking on with some ebay & going to make a proper effort to get some money in the bank.
I have a houseful of excess belongings & its about time I make inroads into turning it into £notes !
Have decided I would like to get on top of my bills & start saving for a new car.
Right ....better make a start:D

That'll do very nicely for Mr 3Dogs   really looking forward to it :j :j
Well done Chelle in getting your car insurance cheaper and with cashback - I've got to sort mine out this week   My current insurer has quoted £5 extra a month but with £50 cashback in 3 months, so will be weighing up the opposition on the comparison sites/cashbackMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Hurries to hants for tea.
Great news Frugal on the car insurance
I know, I wasvery pleased. Grinning like a Cheshire cat. DH is the main driver and when I put him in as main driver as opposed to me (the owner of the damn machine!) it knocked a fiver off.. they must know how bad my driving is :rotfl:
Much appreciated, off to sign up. Thanks Aesopx

I'm planning to sell some of our stuff on ebay too to raise funds for summer clothes. Saving for a new car. That's exciting. Get rid Angie, no good sitting there.
The whole 'shabby chic' thing is a money maker Angie. Pick up an old battered wooden farmhouse chair, (i got 1 for £1 so it can be done) paint it white and voila you have yourself something that will sell for £20-£30
It's something I would do if I had the wheels.
ETA: the wheels above is what DH uses for work so we as a family have wheels but I don't really have access to them. There that clears up how I began the post talking about the car I own and end it saying I don't have a car :rotfl:0 -

Diced Chicken (was on offer at Mr L's last weekend) cooked with diced leek, hoisin sauce, green beans, mushrooms and garlic, served on basmati rice. Was scrummy. Steves dad had sausages, fried egg, new potatoes and mixed veg
That sound delicious Andy ................ we had L!dl grilled steak, with spicy wedgies and mushrooms
I am just checking emails and doing competitions/surveys and looking for bargains again, checking in here every so often - but will be going to bed at 10 pm as I am getting up at 4.45 am tomorrow, with Mr 3Dogs up at 3 am, to go out for car boot at 5.20 am   he likes to get up early and take time over his breakfast, watching highlights of Sunderland;s match :eek:Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Yes it certainly is - aaah, the joys of car booting eh?  The official time for buyers to get into the car boot is 7 am and you need time to 'set your stall out' - but you actually get people coming round before 7 am anywayMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Hi 3Dogs,
Can I ask if carbooting more sucessful than ebay? I know that ebay is warmer, not so early to wake up in the morning & no one trying to haggle over 50p.......but is a carboot better?
I am all ebayed out here & the listing fees seem quite expensive these days.:(0 -

That's a very hard one to answer Angel - there are plenty of people who make a very good living out of both, but car booting is very much harder and you have to hump everything about, be out at all times and all weathers, and you can't control that!!
Whereas, with eBaying you can reach a far greater audience, do it from the warmth and comfort of your own home, and you only have to handle the 'goods' to take them out to post
When I am eBaying, I can make much more than car booting, with less effort really ....................... which makes such a mockery of the fact that I am not eBaying doesn't it? Oh dear ......... that has set me in a quandry Angel, in advising you, I have to face the fact that you can make better money through eBay than car booting
Mind you, some things are just not suitable for eBaying and need to be sold at car boots. It really does depend on what you are selling. In buying from auctions, as we do, you go through and pick some items out for ebaying and the others for the car boot.
My problem is that we are overrun with items ready to be put on ebay - there's a small fortune of items here and I can't get motivated to list them ............... stupid or what????? don't answer that one please!!
I don't know if I have answered your question or not Angel, but I have set myself thinking - I HAVE TO GET STARTED EBAYING AGAIN IF I AM TO HELP WITH OUR FINANCES AND WITH DECLUTTERING THE HOUSE
With that I am off to bed so I can get up for the car boot - so night night Angel and anyone else about - sleep well and have a good day tomorrow guys x x xMr 3Dogs 3-7-12
