We had to move to a bungalow as I couldn't manage the stairs any longer though I have to admit that I have improved a bit since, which is due to a) not having to use stairs anymore and b) losing over 4 stone in weight still a lot more to go, but getting there

I have had arthritis in varying degrees since about 1987/88 when I was 35 but it must be awful for you Dragon, with what you have - how long have you been like this?

Um 15 years but only the last 6 years where I couldn't walk any longer :o

I never wear heels anyway as I can't bend that foot alot. I don't think i ever will be able to because he said he couldn't fix the tendons or something when he was in there. Poo!

When i was in hospital this lady was in having an infusion for her arthritus. She was lovely, she got me my breakfast :) Have you had anything like that?

No I haven't Vix, but, oddly enough, that's what my friend/neighbour is waiting to have, the lady with the broken knee who I am looking in on and doing shopping and other bits for. She had an infusion once before and it helped her so much but needs another, and is on the anti-cancer drug metatrixate together with folic acid in her preparation for her infusion when she is up and about a bit more

can I ask what is shop and scan probably sounds stupid but i don't know thanks a lot :o

Hiya Anna and welcome to the thread :j shop and scan is where you scan the bar codes on all your shopping plus enter the details of your receipts for research purposes - they supply you with a scanner by the way - I am not sure but think the one Aesop is with is run by Neilson Research and she earns points towards vouchers - my sister also does this and gets about £150 a year in vouchers which she uses towards her Christmas shopping. It is great if you can get onto it but not everyone is accepted - I applied but did not get on :(

I am sure that Aesop will give you more details and possibly a link when she is next on, so do look back for a reply later or tomorrow

Oh dear, that's bad Dragon - I count myself lucky really as my arthritis varies so much - when it first started I couldn't hold a pen (hence my ill-health retirement from the Civil Service - you can't do that if you can't hold a pen or pick up your cup of tea :p) and could only hobble, things got worse, then better and I even played golf, sometimes up to 5 times a week, though in pain. Then it got worse again and I had a knee/hamstring injury at the same time, and was really in trouble then  At present, it is more an inconvenience, though I do think you get used to pain being there all the time. I say that knowing that the pain I am in now is much less that it can be and far far less that the pain you are going through

Also, I have the depression which is, I believe, linked to my arthritis and have good days and bad days with that too, which often relates to how bad my arthritis is. But for me, I often think it is the perpetual tiredness that get me - I never have the energy to do much, and what I do tires me out

Do you keep busy during the day Dragon - do you craft? that somehow rings a bell with me for you ;)

I do stitch (when pain etc allows!) during the day on good days I stitch - but at the moment I am spending more time playing computer games :o

Sorry to hear yours is bad and about the depression (and yes I have that as well it is a side effect of CRPS and Hypothyroidism and guess what I have :p)

Sometimes you don't realise what can be done for some things untill you see others. My mum had never heard of an infusion for it... neither had i actually.

it's not a stupid question, not everyone knows what shop and scan is.

it is good you have asked, as there maybe others reading this thread, who are thinking the same thing but too shy to ask.

I actually do shop and scan with Kantar.
