Tasha - the "right to buy" applies to the occupying Tenant, ie, your BF's nan.
You can't leapfrog into a council property in this way: the discounts that apply to the purchase are "earned" by the qualifying number of years that the T has lived in the property and if the T buys and then sells the property on within a set period of time s/he would be obliged to repay all/some of the discount.0 -
Please don't try to buy this property. There are many families out there who need this limited social housing.
If your boyfriend's nan wanted to buy it she would qualify for a discount, but unless she has the cash asking price lying about the house that is an unlikely option.
Why don't you add your name to the local council waiting list?0
