Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has some good suggestions for cheapish/free things to do around Eastbourne on a Sunday? I have seen that there are quite a few museums/art galleries are there.
Thanks very much.

Hi,
Ther is a newish Art gallery ( mixed reviews ) near the Congress Theatres, 2 mins from seafront. If weather nice then the seafront is a fantastic walk. Start from Hollywell and head down towards the Wish Tower cafe and then on towards the Pier. Beachy head is also a 10 min drive away. Many shops in Eastboure but not much variety. Many hotels have public restaurants and bars to stop at.
Why not jump on the Dotto train which takes you the whole length of the seafront.
Hope that helps, if not then just ask.I am only trying to help :rolleyes:0 -
It's always worth popping into the Tourist Information Centre.
:cool:They have loads of boards and regularly update with posters.
Another place to look is the Friday -ad or Eastbourne Herald."The best things in life are free"

If you have a car, then go for a walk on Beachy Head. There's a pub/restaurant there for refreshment. Going the other way towards Hastings, there's the De La Warr Pavilion at Bexhill which has some arty farty exhibits and is free most of the time: http://www.dlwp.com/The man without a signature.0

The cheapest things to do are probably the museum of shops. We've been three times (over several years). Towner is free as already mentioned, as is the De La Warrrrrrrrr but thats in Bexhill. There is a new harbour boat tours at the marina which is also very cheap (£4 each I think) and, having lived in Eastbourne for 15 years, the best walk we had on beachy head was this year.
We also go prawning at Birling gap which is also free and probably the cheapest activity which can take over an hour, is the mini golf up by st bedes school. Its far more fun than the putt putt at the other end of the seafront and only costs a couple of quid.
The Eastbourne Heritage centre is also dirt cheap. We also visited the old pevensey court house museum this year, I think we paid a pound or two each (again practically nothing) and spent nearly an hour there, although there isnt a great deal to see. You can find lists of everything there is to do on eastbourneguide.com and the council have a website of things to do in Eastbourne too. This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
