work and pensions department

just recived a letter of them saying i owe them £18 from the year 2000 thay say i had a loan of them back then and thay have had some of the money back throught jsa over the years:rotfl:now i havent been on jsa for 8 years as im in work and i cant remember having a loan of them do i have to pay this back?

    Yes they'll get it back from you the next time you claim benefits. Or you could pay it now by cash, cheque or postal order at your local Job Centre.

    So you can't remember getting this loan, huh ? No offence, but there's undiscovered tribes up the Amazon who could've predicted you'd say that. It's funny how eager people are for Social Fund loans that they'll just about rip the giro out of your hands when they sign for it ... but six months down the line they can't remember a thing about it.

  • if you dont remember the loan, then maybe you should contact them and ask them for further details?
