Advice please

Im currently receiving Income Support for being long term sick (mental health reasons) I went for a medical ATOS last week.Ive received a letter today,I dont understand it at all wether Ive been given the knock back or not,just wondering if anyone could help please.
The letter says Ive scored 8 points and they have decided from 23/02/2011 im not entitled to national insurance credits ,the box for incapacity & severe diaablement has not been ticked.
Ive not been getting incapacity benefits just income support /long term sick.
Also they have ticked no to some of the questions,which should be yes as i told at the assesment.One of the questons has both no & yes ticked but theyve not added the point?
So I reallly wan to know,have they stopped my benefit or not, dont understand the letter,its as clear as mud.
Would appreciate some advice,thanks

You have failed the medical, you need 10 points for the old IB medical or 15 if its the ESA medical (which it cant be because you cant get IS for reason of ill health when claiming ESA) so you wont get anymore IS, if you think it is wrong you need to appeal using the GL24 form that you can download from direct.gov.

You will need a fitnote and then you will get paid a reduced amount till your appeal but if you cant pass the medical for IB you wont pass for ESA because its much harder and you will be transfered to ESA soon as the change over starts next week so it might be a good time to reassess your future when you see your GP for the fit note.

How come on one of the questions they ticked both boxes yes & no and dint give me the point.Im going to appeal as I believe the examiner asked me certian questions and I answered but they have tickedd no.

For MH I believe that it is 10 points but 15 points for physical or combined illnesses.

Thanks for your replies,Im definately going to appeal against it.Some of the questions the examiner asked like "do i frequently feel scared & panicky for no reason" I told him yes and few details,but they have ticked no..how come?Theres about 3-4 other questions the same I said yes to examiner they ticked no.This has annoyed me more than anything else,I answered yes and explained and they have just ticked no.One question "do you prefer to be alone for most of the day" has both the yes & no box ticked....so do i or dont I.
Please could anyone explain and advise me what to do next,should I go citizens advice.I haven`t a clue and the letter doesnt help at all.I suppose they do that because they think some people will just not bother appealing,or are not really sick and will just leave it.
Ive had an awful day today with this,friend wouldnt leave me alone earlier Ive been stressing and panicking,gettting angry.It could really push someone with mental health issues over the edge(but they dont care)I was even tempted to have drink and to hell with it all (Ive been dry for over a year)Anyway,Im start to feel sorry for myself here and theres always people much worse off,
