Wife drives a 1.0 04 plate no convictions, no accidents and has been insured with the AA for the past 3 years. Last year's premium £410.......
renewal quote £947.60!!!!!!!!!!!!
Went online and tried Sainsburys ( I am insured with them and we also have Pet Insurance so was hoping for a reduction)......Sorry, based on the info you have provided we are unable to offer insurance. Rang them and was told it was because of the Post Code, they are refusing to insure people in our area because of the amount of claims and I would see a major increase in my premium come renewal.
Tesco.....same.
More Than........£1360
Eventually settled for LV via comparison site.... £500 but had to pay full year's premium up front.
Two mates from Manchester have seen their premiums raised by way over 80% and have had the same problem of being refused by various insurers.
Good Luck if your Insurance is due for renewal and you have a postal address within a major city or anywhere within a 20 mile radius of one.
Sorry...rant over!!!
