There is now a National Fraud Agency set up to help deal with clamping down on all those scam e-mails & post

Hopefully, this may help reduce the amount of scams we all receive

In all honesty, probably a total waste of time and money, especially trying to stop the majority of e-mail scams.

An awful lot of these originate from countries in West Africa (mainly Nigeria), and I've been into many of the "back street" internet cafe's there and have seen just how common sending these e-mails is.
Due to the extremely high level of corruption and poverty, these scams are multi million £ operations, and although it will never be proven, I would almost guarantee that it involves many highly placed police and Government officials.
In Nigeria, the government can't/won't control fraud that happens inside their own country, so why should they be worried about a few greedy & gullible foreigners who get ripped off?

Even if only 0.1% of people fall for the scam e-mails, they will keep coming and people will keep losing their money.

i read on another forum where someone had bothered to forward a suspect email that they'd received on to this agency, & it bounced back undelivered as it was obviously considered spam! that's a good start
