Adding audio to Presentations

Hi i've recently learnt about presentations I learnt on microsoft powerpoint but haven't got that on my computer, so I am using google which isn't as good but it seems to be doing the job , I want to make a couple of side shows 1) about the romans because I am interested in them 2) A holiday slideshow -I just wondered to make it more fun can I add sound effects or even an audio recording of my voice to the presentation and individual slides.
