Weekend 26th/27th February - What small DFW things will you be doing this w/e?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:T
Gooood morning you lovely lot, how are you?!:D
Thnk you kindly for all my birthday wishes...I had a nice, quiet, relaxing day with some fab presents. No late night - we're up early as my girlies off to a competition and leaving at 8.
So a whole day to myself - cue college work by the bucketload:rotfl:
So - hope you are all glad the wekeend is finally here....sadly for me it means my week off work is over and half term drawing to a close..booooo. But - on the good side - it's light in the morning now, so getting up for work will be easier:j

Morning! Sorry that your week off is nearly over. I am working the weekend (thus up so awfully early). This week has dragged and continues to! I struggled to get up this morning but here I am in one of my favourite places!
1. Check bank (done)
2. Make lunch (I nearly didn't but thinking about all my hard work in the last month urged me on! And it only took two minutes!)
3. Drink Diet Coke from multi pack rather than vending machine
4. Not go to Tesco (where despite only wanting tea bags I still spend £20!)
5. Research where cat food is currently being sold cheapest
6. Print off voucher for Pizza Express (friend taking us out on Monday but I said I would take a voucher)
7. Drive work car to and from work (as on call)
8. Do on call (worth £12)
9. Enter some competitions (have not done any for two days which is annoying but am too tired and in the "I haven't won anything anyway" zone)
Anyway. My whole day continues to revolve around money saving and its great! So must get to work. Have a great MSE day everyone. If you knew it then you know it!

Morning all!
Pixie sorry I missed your birthday wishes yesterday! I started writing early then by the time I'd clicked "post" loads of people had got in there! But Happy Birthday for yesterday!
Yesterday was a bit odd for me as there was a nasty accident outside my work, where an old boy drifted onto the wrong side of the road and had a head-on with a lorry. Lots of drama/road closed, lost about two hours of working time as couldn't stop shaking. Not a very nice sight on one of the busiest days of the month for me, well, any day for that matter!
Anyway I am working this morning, though I use the term loosly. Not many jobs in today, which is OK because a Saturday is paid over time (£90, 8am - 2pm) plus any labour sales is extra towards target.
So here is my list:-
- [STRIKE]Checked banking[/STRIKE] Not too bad...
- Working over time
- Keep checking ebay, three things ending tomorrow, lots of watchers and few bids!
- [STRIKE]Breakfast from work stores as we've run out of milk at home[/STRIKE]
- Town with friend after work, spend only on essentials!!!!
- Wearing top and boots given to my by friend, so feel new to me
- [STRIKE]Try to sell a purge, have one opportunity. MUST get back into this.[/STRIKE] Sold a fuel purge only, guy didn't have air con. Still £1.25 to me!
- [STRIKE]Brought in some of my "emergency banoffee pie" that friend brought round as a surprise last night[/STRIKE] REALLY shouldn't have eaten this, equivalent of 2 slices = 680ish calories  plus feel sick now
- [STRIKE]Locate purse and debit card, this is ACTUALLY lost. Don't want to have to keep using my CC!!!![/STRIKE] Decided to have a random declutter of desk drawer, found purse in scrunched up brown bag in bottom of bottom drawer:T
- Buy Rawl plugs
- Put Curtain pole back up in bedroom
- Put Shower Curtain wire back up in bathroom (I have been a disaster area recently)
- Do Wii fit tonight
- [STRIKE]Catch up with yesterdays work at work[/STRIKE] Done, feel so much better for this :T
- Wash bedding, hang on line??? Depending on weather
- DD at her dads all weekend
- Try and sparkle, didn't get round to this one yesterday.....
There we go!Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!0 -

Morning everyone. Its the weekend and I'm back at home after working away for the past few days. On the one hand I won't be bored out of my skull in a hotel room, but on the other I'll be constantly pestered by the kids!
Today I will:
Use the toiletries I "rescued" from the hotel
Check online banking. Not expecting any surprises, nice or nasty, but you never know
Check cupboards and freezer, then make meal plan and shopping lists
Go to Aldi for my main weekly shop, then top up at Sainsburys for anything I can't get at Aldi
Call Mint and tell them where to stick their increased interest rates (politely of course). I've no intention of using the card again so I'll just close the account and pay it off at the current rate. I'm still on 0% at the minute anyway.
Go swimming.
Check for surveys
Have a great weekend all.Debt free since December 2015. It can be done0 -
