Print spooler error

Hi
My HP laptop (running XP) can't see the installed printers, which have been installed for ages and which I have been using until this problem occurred a couple of weeks ago. I've gone to the admin tools and reset the spooler to start and run automatically, but when I try to print I get an error message which leads on to the following report:
szAppName : spoolsv.exe szAppVer : 5.1.2600.6024 szModName : unknown
szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00690059
Can anybody offer any advice? I only really need to use CutePdf!
Cheers
Lesley

There seem to be lots of reports of print spooler problems with XP recently, so it may be that a recent MS update has broken it.
Do any of the suggested things to try on the MS support pages help?
Otherwise, might be worth checking whether you have a system restore point before the time that it stopped working, and restoring back to that.0 -
Thank you fwor, I followed your link to the MS support pages. The initial 1-click fix didn't work, but following the instructions to edit the registry did.
Many thanks.0
