Sky TV Link won't work ...

Too long a story to go into but an idiot ( namely me) pulled the cable out of the back of the tv at my Mums. Found out a couple of days later that the sky remote control will not work in the bedroom. I've put the cable back in the right place ( I think ) but it still does not work.
Do I have to 'power up' the tv link again, fresh start so to speak or have I put the cable in incorrectly. No red light on the tv link.... Don't want to keep messing with it. Want to look dynamic and fix it in no time, Mums eagle eye will be upon me when next I visit.
:(:( Im in the dog house and rightly so !

is this a cable with a seperate coaxial plug or was it one of those shop bought cables that the plastic is moulded around the coaxial plug?
Have you checked the wiring at the coaxial plug that the braided copper wires and the inner wire is where it's supposed to be and they are not touching?0 -
If its the one that doesn't have a power supply you plug into the wall you need to connect the antenna lead its connected to to RF2 as that is the only one that can power devices.0

Will give it a go when I'm next there.
Thankfully there is a picture on the tv in the bedrrom , it's just that you cannot change the channel.
