Hi bobajob 1966
Thank you for posting. No, it doesn't say, which I think is odd, but it is Cambridge.
I have not verified the VAT number because it is such a bad copy. I think I have worked it out using the first seven digits - there is a way.0 -
Is there no address or contact details on the invoice? If you can work out where the invoice is purported to have come from, you could ask them to verify it.0
-
Yes, the contact details are there but the service has since divided into two parts, which is making it difficult. Also, because it is such a long time ago, records have been 'archived'.
I have been in contact with the new department but they cannot trace the payments.0 -

In that case I think you need to ask the NHS body to confirm in writing that the payments cannot be traced. Even for the older records they should still have a microfiche record. I have previously worked at an NHS Trust and we had records going back for twenty years (including pre merger), however they did take some searching for.0 -
Thank you, that sounds like a good idea.
Do you know what the PGO account number would be for on an invoice which appears to be for a car lease? Also, do you know if the NHS leased vehicles to service users in care homes? And would they invoice that person or the care home?0 -

They did have lease facilities for staff (and these were handled by a third party, just at a preferential rate), but I am not aware that they did for other people. I could be wrong though, I'm guessing you would need to find someone that worked there at the time to be sure.
With regard to the PGO number, any NHS Trust should be able to access a system to check what it relates to. Unfortunately I can't recall what that system is called.0 -
I don't think they leased to service users - only to staff. Also £922.38 per quarter for a Renault Kangoo was far too much eleven years ago. It is not that much now. Also, would the third party have invoiced rather than the NHS?
The PGO number and VAT number were typed on the invoice, not printed.0 -

Ours were typed on, because the same headed paper was used across the Trust. I don't know anything about car prices, but it does seem steep.
Let us know what you find out. I do fear that you'll only get somewhere with it if you can find somebody that wants to help. Best of luck.0 -
Yes, I will let you know if I make a breakthrough. I've been working on it for five years now! LOL Thank you for your comments.0

I have discovered that car was NHS pool car so was not legitimately leased to a care home service user with LD.
I have copy cheques - they are from 2000/01 and 2005. Does anyone know what the printed codes are on the reverse, please? They were processed through Barclays. I have worked out quite a lot of the information but Financial Ombudsman says bank account number of recipient is on the back ... ? Any help would be much appreciated.0
