Where to invest £15k?

  • If you are not going to 'save' it (and get interest), your wife's tax position is to an extent not important.

    If you are comfortable with Stocks & Shares ISA's, then I see no problem in simply investing the £15K in similar funds. You have over £10K Capital Gains allowance per year, and so all you have to imagine is how long it would take to earn that in one year. Only if and when you see a 'big' profit emerging, simply 'realise' and reinvest in alternative funds.

    It's not a particularly good idea investing in fixed interest when interest rates can only go up?
