Off work on full pay, worried about pay being reduced

Hi, I am writing this on behalf of my best friend who has been off sick and in hospital for 3 months with cancer. She is employed full time, as a nurse, and has been receiving full pay ever since she went into hospital, she is far from out of the woods yet, and isnt leaving hospital in the near future, she will also be undergoing a course of chemo once she is strong enough. The thing is, she will soon have her wages reduced, and will be in receipt of £800 per month, she lives in a council flat, and lives alone, so my question is, is there any help she will be entitled to, i.e benefits once her salary is reduced? I think she aready gets a discount on her council tax for living alone.
what goes around, comes around...........

Ask to talk to Macmillan. They're really good at helping cancer patients out with what help they're entitled to. They came to see my mum at home when she was diagnosed with cancer.

Once her SSP entitlement runs out (28 weeks) she will be entitled to ESA. However, this may be deducted from her OSP, so she may be no better off. Otherwise, I agree with custardy, assuming her rent is pretty low she will not qualify for anything.Gone ... or have I?0
