walk in shower - glue or screw

Hi - we are looking to buy a place with a walk in shower.

Tray on the floor and two sides are tiled walls and two sides are a perpex frame which is attached to the wall.

I cant see if it is glued on or screwed in.

Does anyone know how these are usually attached.

Reason for asking is we need a bath as have young kids but are worried that removing this will damage the tiles or show up holes and mean replacing tiles or having to do whole room.

Many thanks

The shower enclsure will be screwed to the wall. The actual frame will be screwed into a runner that is actually screwed into the wall. You need to locate the screws on the frame, remove them and the is will enable you to lift the frame out of the runners an off the tray. Remember also that the frame will have a bead of mastic under it where it sits on the tray, so you will nedd to cut this with a Stanley Knife.

You might well find that the screws are sited so that they go into the joints in the tiles. At least, that is what I try to do when installing a shower screen. If that is the case it is easy to fill the screw holes with a bit of grout. If not, its not the end of the world, just fill the screw hole in the tile and it will hardly show. Unless, of course you are very pernickety about that sort of thing.

Just so long as I don't want much.
