Itunes question

Hi, I don't know how but I appear to have duplicated most of my music library. I know how to find all duplications however it only seems to let me delete them manually one at a time. This will take me forever.
Does anyone know a way to do it automatically in one go?

Thanks

Hold down control and click all the duplicates. You can then delete them in one batch.

And the reason it is finding duplicates is when you have the option to convert the files to a different format selected. If the original file is one not supported by ITunes (WMA), you'll only get one version when it converts it to FLAC/MP3 etc. However if the original is in a supported format, you'll end up with the original showing and the converted file as well.

If you look at the location the duplicate files are in, you'll probably find:

    1-birdie_song.mp3
    1-birdie_song.aac

..the aac one being the converted file.

If you have duplicated albums, then switch to Grid View before you select multiple albums with Ctrl+Click and it'll be easier.
