Direct Debit Help

Hi guys, looking for some advice here if anyone can help.
I set up a direct debit last month from my RBS current account to pay off the minimum amount on my RBS credit card.
However, being an idiot I totally forgot I'd done this and went ahead and manually paid the minimum amount just there. The direct debit was due to come out on the 2nd of March. I cancelled the DD via digital banking but it said that if the DD was due to come out in the next 6 days then it may still come off.
I tried to call the bank but there's no answer sadly.
Does anyone know if I've got any chance of stopping it or if not? I really can't afford to pay the minimum amount twice this month!
Thanks
GMM

The best thing to ensure it is stopped immediately is to speak directly to an Advisor. When you cancel online, it needs to be picked up by an Advisor and goes into a queue hence the lead time.0

I see, thanks for the advice - I'll try giving them a call this morning.

Speak to the bank but you'll probably be ok, it may show as "leaving" the account but the bank will more than likely not honour it as you have cancelled it at your end and the company will have called for it as they would not have received notification in time to cancel the mandate at their end that's all.0
