Cheshire Orthotics

We required the services of an orthotist to give a professional opinion on a pair of bespoke orthopaedic shoes for which my mother-in-law (in her late 80s) was charged nearly a thousand pounds by a company in the West Midlands.
We found the above (proprietor: Mr Stephen Hutchins) based just outside Chester, but there was no response to e-mails sent via the Web site at http://www.cheshireorthotics.com and when I rang the 0845 number given (I normally don't use 0845 numbers!) I got a recorded message saying that it is no longer in current use.
Over a period of some weeks, messages were passed on personally to the orthotist, Mr Hutchins, by the (extremely professional and helpful) company that provides the Web site, but - astonishingly - still no contact from him whatsoever.
It looks as though Cheshire Orthotics is no longer trading and therefore our recommendation is that it should be avoided. We have now arranged an appointment next week with a very helpful orthotist in Newcastle-under-Lyme and greatly regret the many weeks wasted trying to contact the first one.
