Court Order Against Debt Collector

We got a court order against a large debt collector in UK for costs of atteding court - The judge awarded us costs against the debt collector after they took us to court..

1) What expenses are reasonable to claim under costs - Can I claim for los of one day work whilst attending, taxi fares, preparation.

2) e have written to them and told them a court order has been sent in our favour and reminding them that itis vry serious to ignore a court order - They havent replied and its been months since we first started -

If they dont follow the court order how can I get the money? Funninly if it was the other way round they would have had bailifs round in a snap - Now its my turn for justice but I dont know how to squeeze them...

  • you can send the bailiffs if they ignore a court order, can't you? doesn't Martin say something about this in his article on reclaiming bank charges?

Let him know if you do :)

    Good luck with it.

  • I d be very interested in anyone can share comments on how bailifs are sent?
  • To get the baillifs involved, you will need to apply for a warrant of execution from your local county court. They should be able to tell what else you need to do.

I think that you will find that the DCA will pay your claim, since they would not be allowed to ply their filthy trade if they have a CCJ recorded against them.

  • Yeah - But these guys are pretty thick - I ve written to them more then six times , and they havent written back once.

I guess they think that if they dont writ back - I ll forget about it

But out of principle I d like to squeeze money out of them for a change
