Sorry - deleted my alert as sent the same time as MO2 and was a duplicate

On a brighter note looks like they have finally increased the burger reimbursement

I cant ever seem to remember when the Bank Holidays are..... they just seem like a normal day to me :rotfl: oh well, means an extra day to wait until they pay me :(

In the days of yore, when I had a "real" job, I was paid on the 20th of the month. If the 20th fell over a weekend or on a bank holiday, I was paid on the preceding working day.

Until relatively recently, I was employed by many MS companies: pay days were fixed and I knew exactly when to expect money. TNS and a few other companies still work to the same arrangement (but I wouldn't wager on this staying as is for ever).

Mostly, though, as independent contractors, we have to accept that pay will be delayed when a bank holiday intervenes. Even if we work over a weekend or on a bank holiday, that is not a "working day." What galls me is that banks pay interest on every day of the year - so the longer MS companies can hang onto "our" money, the more they benefit!

Better get in there quick, there wont be any left!

Not had any mysterious shops for almost 2 weeks and then BOOM! 5 off RM and 1 off the company that can't be named. My legs hurt from trying on the heaps of different shoes for RM. They gave me a hot circuit today. 5 shops, all within 1 minute of each other and I got mileage for 1 of them. Woohoo. Go me!

So for those of you that have not had any shops for a while, keep them crossed, you may get some like me.

Hope you all have a lovely break. And Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate it. Catch you all soon x x x

Has anyone done a job for OB Services? I've completed the job, results to be submitted by midnight but I don't seem to have a "survey" to fill in. The instructions refer to "typed report" does this mean I literally write down everything that happened in Word, or is there a standard report/survey that I should be requesting to complete? Obviously noone will be in the office now until Tuesday and I don't want to just leave it if they're expecting to have the report proofread etc by then.

    Anyone?

    TIA :D

*falls over in shock* did an RE pub meal with the petboy last night - was atrocious in every way except the actual food (since you just know its going to be fairly bad due to it being a chain etc) y'know one of those when you really enjoy writing the report out of sheer vindictiveness as you know they'll find out about it when they get a bollocking. Well its approved already with no queries - I was expecting a list of petty things to recheck. Must be the Bank Holiday spirit getting in to the proof readers.

And that was me signing off for the long weekend as I'm off home but I just picked up a couple of enhanced fee jobs for gyp in my home town over the weekend - well I can't be expected to spend too much time with my family!

Gap burger reimbursement has indeed gone up but it's still lower than the cost of a meal in some locations.

That will always happen as there are also some locations where the cost is lower than the reimbursement.

Gap use the average cost across the burger estate. i.e. if ten restaurants sell a product for £4, ten for £5 and ten for £6 then gap will pay the £5 as this is the average. Some locations you will make some extra money as the full reimbursement is paid regardless and others you will lose some.

I'm still not entirely sure what locations they use to obtain the sample pricing data to calculate the average however as the restaurants that are lower than reimbursement are few and far between!!
